    Why it earns its spot

    • +21 months is among the longest 0% windows anywhere
    • +No annual fee while you dig out of debt

    Where it costs you

    The Compound Verdict

Chase brought back the Slate name purely as a balance transfer weapon, and 21 months of breathing room is genuinely useful. But the 5% transfer fee eats into the savings, and it burns a 5/24 slot that could have gone to a Sapphire bonus. Use it if debt payoff is the whole mission, skip it otherwise.
