Why it earns its spot

  • +5x across four brands covers a lot of family clothing spend
  • +3x at other apparel retailers is an unusual perk
  • +No annual fee

Where it costs you

  • Points only redeem within the Gap family
  • 1x everywhere else is forgettable
  • Program is mid-rebrand to Encore Membership Rewards, expect terms churn

The Compound Verdict

Gap rebranded the program toward Encore in 2026 but the math is unchanged: 5% back in store credit across brands a family actually shops. The multi-brand bonus is a nice touch. Outside apparel it earns nothing worth mentioning, so pair it with a real daily driver.
