Plan Options

X Premium

$8/month or $84/year on the web

4.00% standard; 6.00% after $1,000+ in qualifying deposits during a trailing 34-day period

  • Qualifying deposits are payroll ACH or eligible X Creator payouts
  • Includes the virtual and physical X Card
  • Two free outbound domestic wires per year, then $20 each

X Premium+

$40/month or $395/year on the web

6.00% without the qualifying-deposit hurdle

  • Same advertised 3% cash back on eligible X Card purchases
  • Unlimited free outbound domestic wires
  • The higher subscription price is difficult to justify for banking benefits alone

Features

  • 3% cash back on eligible X Card purchases, credited weekly
  • Virtual card issued automatically and optional physical metal Visa debit card
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other supported digital wallets
  • Free X-to-X peer payments with no stated limits after identity verification
  • Early direct deposit up to 2 days, ACH, wires, cash loads, and mobile check deposit
  • Bill pay, mailed checks, and U.S. account and routing numbers
  • Passkeys, adjustable card limits, card locking, and in-app disputes
  • No foreign transaction fee on debit purchases

Pros

  • +6.00% APY is exceptional if you already pay for X Premium or Premium+
  • +3% cash back is unusually rich for a debit card
  • +Worldwide ATM-fee reimbursement and no foreign transaction fee
  • +Broad funding options plus routing and account numbers make it usable as a primary account
  • +Sweep program can extend eligible FDIC pass-through coverage well beyond $250,000

Cons

  • Access is still limited to select U.S. users during the rollout
  • Paid X access changes the real return if you would not subscribe otherwise
  • The X Card is a debit card, so it does not build credit or include a credit line
  • Cash back excludes rent, taxes, government payments, gambling, financial transactions, jewelry, and other merchant categories
  • X Payments is a fintech, not an FDIC-insured bank; deposit insurance comes through partner banks and requires pass-through conditions

Our Take

X Money is one of the most aggressive checking-style launches of 2026. The 6% APY and 3% debit rewards can be excellent for someone who already pays for X Premium, especially after $1,000 in qualifying deposits unlocks the boosted rate. If you are subscribing only for the account, include the subscription in your math: the $84 annual Premium plan consumes two percentage points of yield on roughly the first $4,200 compared with a free 4% account. Premium+ is not a banking-value play at $395 per year because Premium can reach the same 6% APY. Treat the X Card as a rewards debit card, not a replacement for a credit card with purchase protections and credit-building value.

Best for: Existing X Premium subscribers who can meet the qualifying-deposit rule and want debit rewards
