Why it earns its spot
- +Same 5% Amazon rate as the Prime Visa with a lower credit bar
- +Equal monthly payment plans replaced deferred interest on new purchases as of February 2026
- +No annual fee beyond the Prime membership you already pay for
Where it costs you
- −Store-only: useless at every merchant that is not Amazon
- −5% requires an active Prime membership, otherwise the card earns almost nothing
- −29.49% APR if you carry a balance outside a payment plan
The Compound Verdict
A private label card in the purest sense, it only works at Amazon. With Prime it matches the Prime Visa's 5%, which makes it a fair pick for thin credit files Chase would decline. Anyone who qualifies for the Prime Visa should take that instead and get a card that works at more than one company.
