The Compound Verdict
Lowe's answer to the Home Depot card is better because the 5% discount is automatic and immediate rather than nonexistent. It is still a single-store card with a single-store purpose. Homeowners mid-renovation get real value; everyone else uses it twice a year and forgets the login.
