E*Trade offers $400 or $800 for new Premium Savings accounts

E*Trade has introduced a Premium Savings bonus of $400 for deposits of $20,000–$99,999 or $800 for deposits of at least $100,000. The offer gives customers with qualifying outside funds a cash incentive alongside a promotional 4.25% APY for six months.

What Changed
The new-account offer uses promo code SAVE800 and applies only to a new Premium Savings Account. Qualifying deposits must be net-new funds from outside E*Trade and its affiliates, reduced by withdrawals sent outside the bank. The required balance must remain for 45 additional days after the initial 30-day funding window closes. Each customer can receive a maximum of two Premium Savings new-account cash bonuses over their lifetime.
Our Take
This is worth considering if you have outside cash you can leave deposited through the required holding period. Skip it if you need that money sooner or would be funding the account with transfers from existing E*Trade or affiliated accounts.
